The communiqué from the 9th Africa Water Week (AWW9), held in Cairo, reaffirmed Africa's commitment to sustainable water management as a central driver for achieving Agenda 2063 and the UN's 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Ministers and stakeholders called for enhanced partnerships, climate-resilient infrastructure, and innovative financing to address Africa’s water and sanitation challenges. Emphasising improved governance and collaboration between governments, regional bodies, and the private sector, the communiqué stressed the importance of water security for future generations. It concluded with a call for strengthened regional and global cooperation to ensure universal access to water and sanitation across Africa.
